Bake manny colored cookies
You will need:
* Cookie cutters
* 1/2 cup butter
* 1/2 cup granulated sugar
* 1/4 tsp. lemon rind
* 1/4 tsp. salt
* 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
* 1/2 tsp. vanilla
* 1 egg
* Food coloring
Before you begin, be sure to ask a grownup for help.
Place butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl or food processor and beat until creamy. Add egg, vanilla, lemon rind, and salt. Mix well. Gradually add flour and mix until dough begins to form. Shape dough into several balls. Color each ball differently, using the food coloring. Don't forget to mix drops of color together to create new colors. Wrap each dough ball separately in plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll dough balls into a lightly floured surface about 1/4" thick. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until edges are golden.
Here is "The Diffendoofer Song."
We'd love to have you sing along!
We love you, Diffendoofer School,
We definitely do.
There surely is no other school
That's anything like you.
You're gribbulous, you're grobbulous,
Each day we love you more.
You are the school we treasure
And unceasingly adore.
Oh, finest school in Dinkerville—
The only one as well—
We love you, Diffendoofer School,
Much more than we can tell.
You are so diffendooferous
It gives us joy to say,
Three cheers for Diffendoofer School-
HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY!
Play a many colored game
Invite family and/or friends to play. Seat everyone in a circle. The first person to be "it" begins by thinking about an object in the room and saying, "In this many colored room, I spy something _____ (name the color of the object). Can you guess the thing I spy?"
Moving counterclockwise around the circle, each person gets to guess what he or she thinks the object is. The person who is "it" must tell them if they are "hot", "cold" or "warm" depending upon how close to the object their guess really is. The first person to guess correctly wins that round and gets to be "it" in the next.
